Having an agent means having someone who guides you through all of insurance. I want my clients to understand their coverage, and I think one of the best times outside of your renewal conversation is when you are making changes or additions to your home, about to travel, renting a car, right after storm damage. Pop in those moments with your agent and dig in. Like my best advice when you rent a car is if you can afford it buy the rental car carriers protection. One, the loss does not show up on your loss history report which is important in this underwriting market and your insurance does not cover loss of use if you are in an accident in that rental car, so the rental car company can charge you directly for.
