This year the major focus has been on quoting our current clients and checking rates for new ones. It has been an insane year, but some amazing things blossomed for us this spring and we've been growing our carrier line-up ever since. Part of being a true independent agent is that we are not captivated or captive by one carrier, no one is technically paying us a salary or benefits. We are contract employees for all the carriers we represent. I started this way because I believed when I came into the agency side from claims, that the focus should always remain on the client first because that is who pays the premium and that's why there is a company I can even sell for. I didn't want to be beholden to anything outside of my client and the carrier underwriting guidelines and expectations. This year we made a big change leaving one of our carriers behind as we grew forward. This was a massively difficult decision they are a wonderful regional carrier, but I had recognized a couple of years ago they were not the right fit for the agency in the future. That is actually part of my job as well the discernment of the market, how that affects my clients year after year, the financial stability of my carriers, security of data, and the modern services that all clients expect in this modern market. I certainly would hope and fully assume to never have to make a move like this again in my career, but it has been an amazing journey. Our national carriers stepped up with amazing support for our clients, price match offers for those who qualified on last years premiums when premiums are going up everywhere else. It's been a blessing for our clients to be able to save when for the last three years all we've seen is rate increase after rate increase. And to talk with each and every one of our clients has been the most enjoyable time. We learned that our relationships matter more than we knew and that is why we did this to begin with. So, here we are almost 17 years later through so many storms, seasons, and markets. Carrier strong and Brookson strong. Cheers to the next 17 years.
